| Hairstylist denise sharpe
has been honing her craft since 1993, starting off in the industry
as a hair model for a local hair seminar held in Reston, VA. Denise
was so inspired by the energy and teamwork displayed in the toni and
guy back room that she was motivated to follow her long time dream
of owning her own salon and becoming an internationally renowned hairstylist.
Her passion for hair began in her teens as she styled all of her
family and neighborhood friends. Continuing her career path, she
started off in the salon industry as a receptionist, getting hands
on experience running a salon. Her apprenticeship began in Silver
Spring, Maryland @ Tangles Hair Salon. Halfway through her apprenticeship,
Denise left to attend a 10 month intensive program at the Toni and
Guy Hairdressing School in Denver, Colorado to hone her skills.
After moving back to Maryland, she freelanced out of her home in
Silver Spring, MD. After nine months of cutting and coloring hair,
denise longed to be part of
an ideal team. She began working at salon prive in Bethesda, MD.
After 1 1/2 years building relationships with her clientele, she
was eager to become an art director. So she moved to sanktuary salon
in Rockville, Maryland where she was one of nine Toni & Guy/tigi
art team members. Having trained under internationally renowned
stylist 's Sean Stredwick and Pamela Baumgartner, she acquired the
understanding
between education and management in the salon industry. Longing
to get into the world of editorial/session work took her to New
York, styling hair at Xena's Beauty Company working along side internationally
renowned framesi educator and salon
owner Xena Parson (4 what studio, New York, NY).
While living in New York, Denise continued to flourish not only
with toni and guy/tigi, but internationally by traveling to Newfoundland,
Canada; Halifax, Nova
Scotia; Montreal, Canada; Toronto, Canada; Salerno, italy and all
across the USA. During that time, she also worked alongside photographers,
stylists and
makeup artists that embraced the session world.
After learning how to build a team you love to lead and cultivate
the ideal stylist/client relationship, Denise returned home to Silver
Spring, MD and
reconnected with her former peers and continued practicing her art
at David's Hair and Day Spa in Bethesda, MD.
Now that her life and career have come full circle, she has ventured
off and taken the next career jump in becoming a proud salon stylist
and owner at Lux Studios, in Bethesda, MD.
Having traveled the world and been exposed to many wonderful cultures,
the experience that denise gives from her chair is not only professional

rounded, but leaves you feeling magical and eager for your next
